What exactly are geomembranes? What are they used for?

Geomembranes are waterproof barrier materials made of high molecular polymers such as polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride. They have good anti-seepage properties, strong chemical stability, anti-aging and high mechanical strength. They are widely used, covering reservoir and channel anti-seepage in water conservancy projects, landfill liners to prevent leachate pollution, tailings ponds and heap leaching fields in the mining industry, water conservation and anti-seepage in aquaculture ponds and agricultural planting in arid areas in agriculture, as well as waterproofing of basements and roofs in construction projects.
